Privacy at SayForge

SayForge is built privacy-first. Your conversations are transcribed on your device, and nothing is sent to the cloud unless you choose to turn it on.

On-device by default

Transcription runs on your phone using the operating system's built-in speech recogniser. Your audio isn't uploaded in order to transcribe it, and your recordings are kept on your device.

What we store

To run your account and the web app, we store your sign-in details and the projects, recordings, transcripts, and generated documents you choose to save. Audio stays on your device by default — it's only sent for cloud processing if you explicitly enable a feature that needs it.

When data goes to the cloud

Cloud AI features — like Optimise and Generate — are off by default and ask for your consent before they run. When you use them, the relevant text (and, for audio optimisation, a short clip) is sent to our AI provider to process your request. It is not used to train models.

Microphone

SayForge asks for microphone access for a single purpose: to record and transcribe the conversations you choose to record. Recording starts and stops under your control, and the microphone is never used in the background without an active recording.

Service providers

We use a small set of trusted providers to run SayForge. They process your data only as needed to deliver the feature you ask for, under their own terms:

• Google (Gemini) and Groq — process transcript text (and, for audio optimisation, a short audio clip) only when you run a cloud AI feature.
• Vercel — hosts the web app and API.
• Neon — the managed PostgreSQL database that holds the account data you save.
• Resend — delivers transactional email, such as magic-link sign-in.
• Google and Apple — authenticate you when you choose those sign-in methods.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't run ad tracking.
• No bot ever joins your calls or meetings.

Your controls

You can delete individual recordings and projects, or erase all of your data and your account, at any time from Settings.

Children

SayForge isn't directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

Keeping your data secure

Traffic is encrypted in transit and secrets stay server-side. See our Security page for more on how we protect your account and data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app.
